Contemporary new limit values according to DGSV
The Instrument Preparation Working Group (AKI) is already calling for stricter limits for water quality in its Red Brochure for 2017.

Water treatment for hospitals and clinics Shop

With HeylNeomeris for optimal water treatment for your sterile goods processing

Whether you are an outpatient surgical center, a clinic or a large hospital: We at HeylNeomeris are your competent and professional partner for all process water issues in the outpatient and large-scale hospital sector.

With the consistent expansion of our product portfolio, we not only offer products and components, but also solutions and system technology of the highest quality for VE process water treatment in accordance with the latest DGSV recommendations. With our expertise in medical and clinical process water, we are an independent advisor and consultant for sterilization processes at your side.

With HeylNeomeris, you get an individual, optimized and legally compliant solution for your sterile processing.

Legal certainty in reprocessing? Only with up-to-date water treatment!

The limit values of DIN EN 285 no longer reflect the current state of knowledge and could jeopardize the legal security of your reprocessing processes. Although DIN EN 285 is still the standard for water quality in medical device reprocessing, it no longer reflects the latest state of knowledge.

Since 2022, the DGSV (German Society for Sterile Supply) has been advising on stricter limit values for conductivity and silicate monitoring. These could soon become legally binding.

To be legally protected at an early stage, many hospital managers and managers of outpatient surgical centers are already adapting their processes to the new requirements.

A positive side effect: in addition to legal certainty, you will also receive a cost-optimized reprocessing process.

Parameter DIN EN 285, Table B 1 for clean steam generators DGSV Technical Committee 2022
Conductivity at 25 °C ≤ 5 µS/cm ≤ 0.1 µS/cm
Silicate ≤ 1 mg/l ≤ 0.4 mg/l

Legal certainty in reprocessing with new water limit values

HeylNeomeris: many years of practical experience in implementing the latest recommendations from the AKI and DGSV

Since 2017, we at HeylNeomeris have been actively implementing and complying with the adjusted limits for conductivity and silicate to prevent instrument damage.

What instrument damage can be expected if these limits are not met?

  • Pitting corrosion
  • Lime deposits
  • Silicate deposits

Examples of pitting corrosion

The changes mentioned in the instruments and medical devices are visible signs of poor DI process water quality.

The figures we collected from a 2019 study show the financial impact: in just six months, one clinic spent 87.55% of its annual budget on repairs and replacements, which would have meant an annual budget overrun of 75.11% or €87,500 in additional costs.

Patient safety is more important than cost risks: high standards in the quality of demineralised water as a building block for patient safety

Germs and contamination due to instrument damage prevent successful sterilization and endanger patient safety. According to the Medical Devices Operator Ordinance (MPBetreibV), the responsibility for reprocessing lies with the operators. Non-compliance can have legal consequences. With state-of-the-art water treatment, legal and patient safety is ensured and goes beyond the requirements of DIN EN 285.

Would you like to get an independent opinion and have your reprocessing process evaluated?

Product portfolio

HeylNeomeris as a supplier of cost-optimized silicate measurement for the clinical sector.

With the Testomat® 808 SIO2, you will find an online measuring instrument for silicate monitoring in our product portfolio that was developed specifically for use in the clinical sector and is suitable for the limit value monitoring required there.

We also offer conductivity measurements that can be optimally integrated into your individual system concept.

In addition to other products and components for the treatment of process water, we are also a supplier of unique system technology for outpatient clinical applications. With the modular construction concepts of our water treatment systems for outpatient care, we offer a novelty that combines the latest state of the art and knowledge.

Our solution concept offers you a range of advantages:

  1. Space-saving: The modular cabinet system requires a minimal floor space of only 1.60 m x 1 m. It consists of two cabinets, each 80 cm wide and 60 cm deep. The compact dimensions of the under-table version (W x H x D: 50.5 x 60.3 x 40.0 cm) mean that it can be integrated into any room concept.
  2. Modular concept: The system can be expanded to include important components for your application: lifting system, UV disinfection, pyrogen filter, NeoTecMaster® for data recording and visualization, and much more.
  3. Adaptability: The water treatment system can be adapted to the different water hardness levels in Germany and the required quantities in different facilities.

The system concepts enable reliable, legally compliant and cost-effective water treatment for the preparation of medical devices in outpatient clinics – in accordance with the latest recommendations of the DGSV.
