Silicate monitoring in hospitals

Silicate monitoring plays a crucial role in the water treatment process for sterile medical devices in hospitals. Among other things, the water used contains silicates, which are responsible for the formation of silicate clouds and pitting corrosion on the instruments. In order to guarantee the quality of sterile medical devices and minimise the risk of infection for patients, it is essential to remove silicates from the input water as part of the water treatment process and to comply with the requirements of the DGSV guidelines and the AKI. Careful monitoring of silicate levels is therefore essential.
